Buddy The Elf Costume

We elves try to stick to the four main food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corns and syrup.

Buddy The Elf CostumeBuddy The Elf, played by Will Ferrell in the 2003 movie Elf, is a jolly fun loving guy, and dressing as Buddy will instantly transform you into the image of fun and festivity. Everyone loves Elves, and you'll be instantly recognized, but chances are no one else will be dressed as an Elf, certainly not in a Buddy The Elf Costume

The quality costume to the left includes a green fleece Elvin jacket with gold accents, white faux fur trim (that means "fake" fur, Elves don't wear dead animal skins), and a black belt with a gold buckle. It comes in both regular human size and extra large.

Add  some yellow pants or your favorite "little people" color, perhaps a silly hat, and you are ready to go to town -- or the North Pole.Buddy The Elf Wig

I'd  suggest adding the Buddy The Elf Wig to the right for maximal effect!

One size fits most (human, not elf) adults, and it is washable.

Adding his hair from the movie can be pretty awesome as well, especially if your hair is not Elvin or if it is missing.

You'll get a lot of "Look at that hair!" type comments!

Now I don't want to burst your Elvin Bubble, but Buddy was not born an Elf. Just like Steve Martin in The Jerk wasn't really born a poor black child. They were both adopted.

You see Buddy crawled into Santa sack, you know that big bag of toys he slings over his shoulder, one Christmas Eve in an orphanage. He wasn't discovered until he was back in The North Pole. Papa Elf (played by Bob Newhart) eventually told Buddy the truth. After all, he kind of stands out (literally) as he's much bigger than the native Elves, and he is pretty sucky at building toys too.

Now nothing against adoptions; they are a wonderful thing. Both my youngest daughter Stacie and my dog Tyler are adopted, from Siberia (near the North Pole) and the dog pound respectively. In fact Stacie may have a bit of Elf in her! Many Siberians do I'm told.

Anyway, Buddy, like many adopted kids, goes looking for his parents and that's the whole premise of the movie. Just in case you haven 't seen it, I don't want to spoil the ending, but let's just say Santa shows up, Buddy meets a hot chick named Jovie, and errr . . . Buddy's biological Dad is on the naughty list too. Oh, Buddy gets drunk too. And arrested at another time.

In the end, not giving away the story of course, Buddy writes his autobiography and his father publishes it. And maybe you can be in his autobiography if you wear a Buddy The Elf Costume!
